A special thanks to Jill Cruickshank from the office of Economic Development & Tourism for the Region of Queens Municipality, Nova Scotia. Jill has provided this background and wonderful pictures of a King's Bridge in Mill Village, Queens County, Nova Scotia (www.queens.ca). It was built in 1883 and is still maintained by the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and is in full use as an essential crossing point of the Medway River. It is 144 feet long with a 5-foot walkway. Mill Village is a small community and the village store and bridge, shown on the attached photos, are the focal point. |
